FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Football is not merely a sport for Indian women — it is a transformative vehicle of empowerment, unity, national pride, and unprecedented growth.

Welcome to the Women's Football Federation of India (WFFI). Since our founding in 1975, our federation has carried the honor and responsibility of pioneering national women's football across every state and district in India.

As we advance under Master Plan 2026, our commitment remains resolute: building robust grassroots programs, establishing competitive national leagues, empowering female athletes and certified technical officials, and elevating India's stature on the global football stage.

GLORIOUS ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE WOMEN'S FOOTBALL FEDERATION OF INDIA

The Women's Football Federation of India (WFFI) is the Founder and National Governing Body for Women's Football in India, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.

Pioneering History

Historical Legacy

Established in 1975, on the eve of International Women's Day, WFFI became the first and only organization exclusively devoted to the promotion and development of women's football in India.

WFFI's affiliation with the Asian Ladies Football Confederation (Inc.) brought Indian women's football onto the continental stage. Under its leadership, the Indian Women's Team achieved remarkable success — securing the Runner-Up position at the 1980 Asian Championship, followed by consecutive 2nd and 3rd place finishes in subsequent editions organized by the Asian Ladies Football Federation.

These early milestones symbolized India's pioneering spirit and dominance in the Asian women's football movement.
