FOUNDING CHRONICLE
The Women's Football Federation of India was established with a singular constitutional mandate: to provide structured, equitable governance and athletic opportunity for female footballers across every state and union territory.
Before unified national governance, women's football competitions in India relied on fragmented regional initiatives. The federation brought together senior coaches, former international players, and state sports administrators to create an accredited, transparent framework under national sports guidelines.
Today, WFFI presides over sanctioned state championships, age-group national tournaments, certified refereeing clinics, and rural talent discovery schemes.
